Joe Brown Rocks for Kenton for Keeps

The rock and roll legend that is Joe Brown MBE is kindly doing what he does best for us on Sunday 30th May at 7.30pm with a gig in support of Kenton for Keeps.

Expect timeless classics, rockabilly, gospel, country, folk and electric rock 'n' roll - all interwoven with Joe's effervescent delivery and humorous reminiscences.  He's sure to be a sell out (again!).

Tickets are £25 - please book sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Joe's 2008 50th Anniversary album was a Top 20 Album Chart success selling over 120,000 copies in the lead up to his sell out 50th Anniversary concert at The Royal Albert Hall with guests including Mark Knopfler, Jools Holland, Dave Edmunds and daughter, Sam Brown.

His latest album, released in October 2008, is 'More of the Truth' - a collection of original songs and re-worked covers including Stormy Weather, gospel classic Let the Liar Alone' and U2's 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.'

June 2009 was an historic month for Joe - he was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List and the coveted Outstanding Contribution to Music Award by Mojo Magazine.

"Perhaps the most underrated figure in British pop history." Andy Gill, The Independent

"It would be easy to dismiss a man who once sang tunes like Jellied Eels and I'm Henry the Eighth as a mere novelty, but no one lasts this long by accident.  Brown may tell terrible jokes, and banter between songs as if as he's about to sell you a vanload of dodgy TVs, but he's a multi-skilled musician, equally adept on guitar, fiddle and mandolin.  He glides between genres, whether it's the nimble bluegrass of Long Gone, the sinister blues of Bob Dylan's Well, Well, Well or the country-pop of Sea of Heartbreak."  Adam Sweeting, Daily Telegraph
