THE KENTON THEATRE BICENTENARY

Amadeus

HAODS at The Kenton Theatre, Saturday 12 November to Saturday 19 November

Amadeus by Peter Shaffer, by kind permission of Samuel French Ltd.

Henley Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society are proud to present Peter Shaffer's intriguing play, Amadeus.  It is a gripping study of the roots of envy and the haphazard nature of genius. It tells the tale of Salieri, successful court composer to Emperor Joseph II of Austria and his struggle with the genius of Mozart. It is packed full of exquisite visual images and those soaring snatches of Mozart's music which combine to make this a great theatrical occasion. The play is set in Vienna in November 1820, and, in recall, the decade 1781-91.

Director: Julie Huntington
